I suffer from eczema and overall I have very dry sensitive skin, the only cream I’ve ever been able to get on with is Aveeno. So when I was offered the Calmurid Pro range to try for Dry to Very Dry skin, I was very apprehensive of what to expect.
Calmurid Pro Body Lipolotion for Dry to Very Dry Sensitive Skin (retails at Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy & Amazon UK £12.99)
The Body Lipolotion offers lotions designed for all skin types from normal skin to extreme dry skin conditions for those like myself. The packaging is very plain and pharmaceutical looking. The lotion is scent free which I prefer.
The cream is a very thin white consistently and I found only a small amount is needed. The body lipolotion applied very greasy and took a few minutes to really absorb into my skin before wearing clothes. Normally creams have no effect on me whatsoever but leave my skin feeling more dry and irritated. So I was very impressed that the cream absorbed and stayed absorbed into my skin for 24 hours before the need to reapply. My whole body felt nourished and flaky skin disappeared after a few days of use.
I did find the 200ml bottle only lasted me two weeks of daily use and I did find it too heavy for my face and left it quite greasy. So I only applied to my face in the evening before bed.
Verdict: I’m impressed with the results which kept my skin hydrated for 24 hours. But this isn’t very cheap for daily use when a 200ml sets you back £12.99. If your willing to pay for better skin, then I thoroughly recommend this cream but Aveeno Daily Moisturiser is cheaper, less greasy and does the same job. Probably not the cheapest cream on the market but certainly works.
Calmurid Pro Moisturing Hand Cream for Dry Damaged Hands (retails at Boots, Lloyds Pharmacy & Amazon UK, price £7.99)
The hand cream is scent free and applies quite greasy at first but soon absorbs into my skin. Normally hand creams have no effect on me whatsoever but tend to leave my skin feeling more dry and irritated. So I was very impressed that the hand cream absorbed and stayed absorbed into my skin for a good few hours before the need to reapply. My hands felt nourished and soft, the greasiness after applying soon disappeared.
Verdict: Although not the cheapest hand cream on the market, to me it’s worth every penny as it works. I’ve finally found my perfect new brand of hand cream.
