As someone who has been unfortunate to grow up with eczema and suffer daily with very dry skin. I’m always on the look out for non steroid creams to ease any flare ups and continue to make my skin feels hydrated and smooth for longer.
I’ve recently discovered the brand Cetaphil which promises to keep skin hydrated for 24 hours. For someone like myself who struggles to find any cream on the high street that can achieve this was worth a try in my eyes.
I was very lucky to receive a sample pack from the InSiders UK with various products from Cetaphil to try. Within this pack I received a Body Cream, Day Cream with SPF 50, Night Cream, Skin Cleanser and Hand Cream.
Cetaphil Body Cream for Dry, Sensitive Skin
I was very apprehensive on the first application of this body cream. Mainly down to the confidence I held in my normal body cream I use daily which is Aveeno.
The cream is fragrance free with a thick white texture. The body cream glided onto my skin and seemed to absorb into my skin fairly quickly. I must admit my skin felt hydrated straight away and felt soft without feeling greasy or clammy.
By the end of my working day, I was surprised to say my skin still felt hydrated and nourished and I had no need to apply more body cream except to my face and hands. What surprised me the most was the claim to hydrate my skin for 24 hours, to be honest I didn’t believe the claim. But by the next morning I was ready to apply the cream again.
Overall I liked the cream, I experienced no itching, flaky skin nor did my skin feel uncomfortably dry and rough. This cream is definitely very suitable for eczema suffers and those prone to very dry skin. I probably would buy again, it seems to be the best cream on the high street which can be purchased without a NHS prescription. But does come with a large price tag for 100ml tube.
Available to buy: Superdrug £10.09
Cetaphil Daytime Face Cream with SPF 50
The fragrance free thick white cream glides onto my skin and quickly absorbs. It didn’t feel greasy and I was able to apply my daily makeup with no issues.
The face cream boasts to feature SPF 50 but as we are currently in the winter season it’s very difficult to know if this is protecting my skin from the sun rays or not. But its such a great feature which I’m sure I’ll appreciate in the summer months.
Verdict: I love this Day face cream, it glides on and doesn’t leave me with an outbreak of spots. My skin feels hydrated and brighter. Would definitely continue to use.
Cetaphil Night Cream
I hate night creams, I always found them to be to moisture rich and often leaves me feeling greasy and spotty. Surprisingly this night cream from Cetaphil didn’t. Teamed with the Day cream, my face feels smoother, fresher and hydrated.
Verdict: Like the Day cream its a thumbs up from me.
Cetaphil Hand Cream
After trying the body cream and face cream from the brand, I was slightly disappointed with the hand cream. Although it hydrated my hands in the bitter winter weather, I didn’t like the feel of the hand cream on my skin.
Verdict: A big no, no for me.
Cetaphil Sensitive Skin Cleanser
I sometimes find skin cleanser can be very harsh on sensitive and dry skin, so I was curious to try this skin cleanser.
The cleanser comes with a pump dispenser which makes the bottle easy to use. The cleanser can be applied with or without the use of water and applied to both the face and body. This cleanser is so sensitive and mild its suitable for children.
The cleanser is fragrance free and a white balmy texture. It feels so light on my skin, though I didn’t feel it cleansed my body as much as I’d like. When used on my face to remove makeup, I found the cleanser worked great. My only complaint was the cleanser doesn’t remove stubborn or waterproof mascara.
Verdict: I really love this cleanser, it’s so mild it didn’t once irritate my skin and hydrated my skin perfectly.
Disclaimer: I received the Cetaphil range from the Insiders UK as part of a product testing experience.
