I love my morning Cappuccino. So when I discovered that coffee can be used as a body scrub to smooth and tighten the skin. Oh and fight cellulite. Obviously I’m in for giving it a go!
How does Coffee fight cellulite?
It’s thought the caffeine within coffee can help to improve circulation and dilate the blood vessels, so the appearance of cellulite dimples is less noticeable. While the antioxidants within coffee help to increase collagen production. The coffee grounds can help to exfoliate the skin to help slough off dead skin cells and make skin look radiant and smooth. Similar to other body scrubs.
Can I use leftover ground coffee?
Yes, my recipe is based on waste coffee ground discs used from my coffee machine. It’s a great way to recycle, save money and save the planet.
How often should I use?
Coffee scrubs are generally most effective if used 2-3 times a week to exfoliate dead skin, and increase blood flow for healthier looking skin.
How long will the scrub last?
When placed in an air tight container, the coffee scrub should last 2 months.
Can I use coffee scrub on my face?
Yes of course, apply to your face using circular motions. Avoiding the eyes, nose and mouth area. Leave the scrub on your face for at least 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. The scrub should leave your skin glowing and feeling smoother.
Is it suitable for all skin types?
Yes definitely, I suffer from sensitive and very dry skin. So I’m always concerned with natural homemade products creating side effects on my skin. But my skin has been left feeling smooth and soft thanks to the coconut oil.
