I’ve suffered from high blood pressure since the age of 25. I’m not overweight, I try to eat healthy and excerise regularly.
Unfortunately many individuals like myself will always suffer from high blood pressure which is unrelated to lifestyle choices and will spend a lifetime on medication. But anything is worth a try to lower your BP right?
The professional medical board recommend a healthy range to be between 120/80 and 140/90. Anything over these limits are deemed too high whatever your age or sex.
Over the years I’ve researched and found ways to reduce my blood pressure naturally but these are not long term solutions. If your BP is still over the 140/80 healthy mark. Then I would always recommend going to see your doctor.
So here’s my five best ways to reduce high blood pressure naturally.
Take up jogging
For some of us light excerise can be the solution to lowering blood pressure alone. But it hasn’t really worked for me. I’ve found light jogging is the only excerise which gives a big boost to lowering my blood pressure. Through regular three mile jogs I’ve been able to lower my BP medication while losing weight.
Drink Beetroot Juice
If exercise is not your thing and you can bear the taste of this root vegetable. Then give beetroot juice a go. Thanks to its high nitrate content, beetroot is a fantastic booster to lowering high blood pressure straight away. Try taking Beetroot boost shots daily, they taste disgusting, stain the teeth but they really work at reducing blood pressure dramatically plus it’s a fab energy booster too.
Eat more Bananas
Bananas contain potassium which is essential for the maintenance of a healthy level of blood pressure. Eating one banana daily can lower and maintain a healthy BP range.
Cut out Salt
Yes it’s an obvious one but it’s surprising how much of what we eat contains salt or sodium. Check food packets for ingredients, remember low fat products are the worse culprits for added salt. Cut this from your diet and it could lower your blood pressure.
Drink less alcohol
We all enjoy a tipple now and then but drinking too much alcohol can increase blood pressure. Try to avoid binge drinking and stick to the recommended limits: 2-3 units a day for women and 3-4 units a day for men.
Final word
Always remember everything in moderation will help to combat not only lowering blood pressure but other health problems too.
I would love to know if you have any more suggestions to lower blood pressure or if these hacks worked out for you too.
I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good. I don’t know who you are but certainly you’re going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!
