Why you should use Cuticle Oil

Nails have a tendency to dry out, chip and peel. Moisturising alone won’t cure these natural nail disasters from occurring. But cuticle oil will most certainly help improve the most dryest of nails. Below I’ll show you the reasons why Nail Technicians swear by cuticle oil.

What is Cuticle Oil?

Most cuticle oils are a blend of different oils such as jojoba, almond, flaxseed or safflower oil and may vitamin E. Depending on the brand, cuticle oil will usually have an eye dropper or a brush to paint on to the nails.

Being an oil, only a small amount is needed to be massaged into the nail bed. The massage movement will promote circulation while the oils nourish the nail bed promoting stronger, healthy nails.

Why you should use cuticle oil

Can you apply over nail polish?

Yes. Although usually applied during a manicure treatment on natural nails. Applying cuticle oil to polished nails is fine as it actually helps the nail polish to last longer and stay shiny too.

How often should I use?

During winter months, it’s best to apply cuticle oil every other day. But depending on how dry your nails are, the recommendation would be to apply cuticle oil twice a week for strong, hydrated nails.
