The Konjac sponge is highly absorbent in both water and oils and is excellent for a thorough cleansing. It also has great function to break down the skin’s dirt and balance pH levels.
What is Konjac?
Konjac has been traditionally used in Japan as a beauty treatment for a long time due to its properties. Konjac is a traditional Japanese jelly-like food, made from a type of potato called “Konnyaku potato”.
The Pure Sol Konjac Sponge Turmeric has no preservatives and no chemicals, it does have turmeric that has been known to heal and prevent dry skin. Keeping the skin supple and improving its elasticity.
The yellow sponge is hard as a rock on first sight but once wet, the sponge slowly softens out to a slimy soft sponge. I did notice a strong turmeric fragrance once the sponge was wet which lingered on my skin hours after use. The Pure Sol Konjac sponge can be used on both the face and body, as the sponge is quite large it’s perfect for the shower.
After a few uses my skin started to feel noticeably softer but I wasn’t a big fan of the tumeric fragrance on my skin. I was disappointed after a few weeks the sponge began to fall apart and didn’t last the recommended three months. Although this particular brand if konjac sponge didn’t work out for me, there are plenty of better quality sponges on the market which work perfectly.
